i do not spawn, therefore i am immature

OMG...!!! tonight's episode of 'real time with maher' was the bestest ever!

sir ian mckellan, detroit mayor kwame kilpatrick & christie todd whitman were the panelists. then there was ralph nader. SWEET! then some crazy woman sandy rios from some conservative women's group. 'concerned women for america.' eh...? who are these concerned women? and why aren't they spending more time with their families?

iam mckellan was so cute - paraphrasing *at best* 'why don't you spend the tax money on things that are needed?' um cause that would be the normal & smart thing to do. bill maher had to remind mckellan that he's not an american. HAHAHA! mckellan even brought up that new zealand has legalized prostitution for both sexes. how does he know?

to everyone: if you have a television & cable/directv/TiVo/a vcr/dvd-recorder - you have to tape this particular show - episode #27! i try to never get political on here. especially an as uneducated woman... but my GAWD BILL MAHER speaks the gospel on current politics.

:biggrin

okay off to soothe my scraped hand & go to bed. must work at 5 am. read bill maher's new rules. he does them at the end of every show. they're the bestest ever!!!

cover me - my top 5 cover songs

okay i got this from ari:

1. song: 'wicked'
remaker: korn
original: ice cube'
i believe was about the la riots back in 1992. i still have no idea why people rioted. it's just so perfect... it's ice cube but johnathon davis. you have to hear it to believe it.

2. song: 'iron man'
remaker: the cardigans
original done by: black sabbath
listen to the original and the remake... i fell in love with the remake by the cardigans. it's just so cute.

3. song: 'how soon is now?'
remaker: love spit love
original done by: the smiths
this song is great... when the smiths & morrissey do it ... it's so down. but then you have love spit love (aka the psychedelic furs) vcersion and it's so upbeat.

4. song: 'lady marmalade'
remaker: missy elliott & 4 chicks
original done by: labelle
labelle's original version of 'lady marmalade' is so my mother's generation. think the soul train era, platform shoes, bell bottoms. see you get the idea. i love the version done by lil kim, mya, christina aguilera, & pink. it's so DIVA. it's so me!

5. song: '2 wicky'
remaker: hooverphonic
original done by: isaac hayes'
okay my father had pointed this one out to me it's not really a covered song but more of a sample. hooverphonic sampled isaac hayes' *though some people know him better as the voice of chef from 'south park'* 'walk on by' it's a good song... actually the whole cd rocks. i just can't find it.

edit: when my sister's children were 2 & 1 at the time *they're now 13 & 14* they knew the words the black sabbath's 'iron man' she & her husband were *and still are* these classic rock freaks. can you believe it a 2 year old singing 'iron man?'

cause i want to

it is february 25th... 2004!

i still can't believe that almost 60 years ago that black people had to seat at the back of the bus. HAD TO. it was like law. black people sit here... and white folks sit over there *points* that is so foreign to me. that's just so odd... my dad was really young but he remembers stuff like that. it boggles my mind.

i was watching bill maher last friday night and i guess there's a state that still has it on the books that an interracial marriage is against the law. AGAINST THE LAW!? i think there was a movie with lela rochon about that. *goes over to the imdb.com* yes she was in a movie called 'mr. & mrs. loving' ... whoa! well look at that lela rochon's husband antoine fuqua directed the soon to be released 'king arthur' movie. 50 years ago this never would've happened.

i'll prolly have more to say next month since march is 'women's history month.' oh yah and like children's book month or something. who cares. girl... can you imagine your father trading you for a sack of grain & like 3 goats? hell no... he better at least recieve 20 goats and 5 sacks of grain for my ass. just kidding.

because i found posting over in my livejournal is almost like posting here *like only 2 people comment* actually it's easier to post pictures and stuff without hurting my fingers *i hen peck* look at what i posted from new orleans christmas trip back in 1997. *yes those are real pictures of anne rice's st elizabeth house and i still feel like a spaz* i still need to add the mardi gras pictures from the year before.

for a laugh head over to black people love us.

no more sex

it's finally over!

i've watched this show since june 1998 and i gotta say the show was great... we were given classic lines like this one, 'did you see the bulge in his pants?' 'samantha, he's wearing a cup!' 'well, honey, his cup runneth over!' to the funky fashion dubbed as carrie - the ghetto-fabulous name on a chain. *THANK YOU PATRICIA FIELD! may you be inducted into the hall of fashion fame someday!*

i'm gonna miss sex on sunday nights.

and the biggest mystery of them all.... big's name is JOHN!

go on girl

i've been watching 'real time with bill maher' and so far i really like her. her being debra dickerson. jon favereau (sp?) has really had a chance to say anything. poor guy... i really liked him in 'pcu' as gutter. 'gutter is a tool!'

i just realized that i haven't said anything on here about black history except for now. um... hmm. i'll come back to that.

give me that tissue

things that make me cry are few... yes even i cry and i've taken pains to list em... it's a list but a very, VERY, small one

1) 'to kill a mockingbird' - by harper lee - i swear you have no soul if you don't cry at least once while reading this.

2) 'all dogs go to heaven' - when the little girl is telling charlie goodbye... awww!

3) when crystal lewis sang her part in 'roundhouse's 'we're a family.' it brought back days of going to baptist church revivals with my mother.

sidenote: 'love actually comes to dvd APRIL 27th 3 days after my birthday.

whoa nelly...!

The Slightly Weird Alan Rickman Fansite For Slightly Weird Fans
! omg... there's a section on how to get alan rickman to notice you... 6. Walk up to him with a huge chemistry textbook and say, "Professor Snape? Can you please help me with my Potions homework?"

see that lends itself to the teacher & dirty thoughts fantasies.

meanwhile back at the ranch...

this is great! marriage is so sacred.. that's why certain pop-music makers get married and then get their 11 hour marriage annulled. yes marriage is soooo sacred here in these united states.

i either need to read some erotica where the c-word is used overly much or go see 'kill bill vol 2.' i'm torn. well watching violence on the big screen is such the american thing to do.... it goes hand in hand while watching 3 female, not the 2 - pop singers kiss eachother on stage. wait, was that naked pierced mammary gland?

girl i feel yo pain!

maya rudolph as diana ross in jail, 'tina, they took away my emery board & my hot comb!'

girl i feel yo pain! any woman who lives by the hot comb will die without it. sheila with an afro is not a pretty sight. old fashioned hot comb, electric, or perm - i take what i can get. nappy (beyond curly) hair is not a nice thing.

'tina, i ain't gonna make it!'

kiwis are some hard mofos

good lord... first it was urbanized gap mommies now we have straight out of the hood new zealanders?

i just saw the new video for the youngbloodz song 'lean low.' *you can hear 'lean low' at the end of the movie 'torque' at the beginning of the credits* jamie pressly, will yun lee, and monet mazur are all in the video.... including martin henderson who looks like he's trying throw up an 'N' sign. maybe for new zealand... i dunno. is martin henderson from a south central version of new zealand? is he considered a hardcore gangsta down in middle earth? is he ice cube's kiwi equivalent?

what's the big deal?

on tuesday: 643 visits, wednesday: 3,913 and so far today... 696 visits. so i'm still counting. all this has used up a gig of bandwidth.

i think part of why it was such a big deal and the head of the FCC released a statement in the first place: the FCC is being badgered by some of the parent watchdog groups to enforce some strict guidelines for tv. like no more saying bitch or ass during a primetime tv. it was on NPR like a week or so ago. they even mentioned paid cable...! what?! i don't think so.. 'sex & the city' would not be the same without samantha talking about giving the world parcel service delivery guy a blow job.

bottom line: don't censor my tv, my books, my music. don't censor anything for me.

anyway finding old school (80s) adidas jackets is harder than i thought.

one question 'cause i know some of you all are at work: WHY AREN'T YOU WORKING? you still looking up stuff about that thing that happened on sunday at that big televised event.

BUT since i'm a nice person... i'll point out two online articles for you. article #1 & article #2 with pictures - enlarged picture. you freaky deeks. she doesn't look surprised at all... just kinda shocked, like 'you hairy ball sack, my nieces & nephews are watching this!'

why?!

just cause you ordered a drink nonfat and then add whipcream doesn't make that nonfat drink okay.

edit: did you know when sending things internationally *such as myself* you have to fill out a customs form and check gift? yes. yes you do.

there was a game?

the superbowl is the superbowl no matter what. the nfc champions play the afc champions. or is it the other way around? anyway this year it was the patriots & the panthers.

BUT NOBODY CARES! at least not me... i'm in front of that tv for the ads. all those over-hyped, millions of dollars worth ads. oh yah... the only ones i really liked are: pepsi & i-tunes, (that rocked!) we're still going to download music for free! then there was pepsi ad with mo'nique. then there was a mitsubishi one... i think that was the one with the truck getting pushed over a cliff. the football singers singing that annie song... was a hoot.

all the movie trailers were great... VAN HELSING has been on my summer list since last spring, then there was the new 'TROY,' 'miracles,' a new trailer for 'the alamo,' 'starsky & hutch,' 'secret window,' 'hildalgo,' & finally 'the ladykillers.'

i missed the new 30 second trailer for 'harry potter & the prisoner of azkaban.' i have until june to see my OLD MAN HOTNESS!

oh yah the patriots won.

edit: OH YAH! did anyone else watch the half-time show.. at the very end when justin timberlake took off poart of janet jackson's dominatrix bra thing and the world was able to see janet jackson's pierced boobie?
